1942 Dennie 2025

Dennis Manning

July 25, 1942 — February 22, 2025

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis (Dennie) Manning, beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend. Dennis passed away in his home on February 22nd, 2025.

He was born on July 25th 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to LeRoy and Blanch Manning. Dennis served in the United States Coast Guard & retired from Kennecott Copper Mine after 36 years of service. He was a passionate fisherman, exceptional artist, but most importantly, a dedicated family man. Though a man of few words you always felt the love he had for you. He continuously provided and helped people around him, especially his family in times of need.

In his youth he loved to play Yahtzee with his dad and uncles. As he got older he enjoyed taking his sister, granddaughter and niece to Disneyland. Dennis loved taking his grandkids to Strawberry Reservoir and teaching them all about fishing; from waking them up to catch their own worms in the middle of the night to cleaning their own fish. He enjoyed driving to Mesquite with the family to play in the slot tournaments or Malad to grab a powerball and of course his scratch off’s! He loved crosswords, watching Westerns, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbinson and enjoying a nice cold beer. He was known for his dry sense of humor and had a silly habit of pulling the strings on his socks until they were nearly gone and almost never was seen without a cutoff shirt and his sunglasses on… even at night! His family was a source of immense joy and comfort throughout his journey here on earth and would do whatever he could to lend a helping hand. We will forever carry on his memory in remembrance of the impact he had on all of us. Dennis is survived by his sister Gerrie, brother Billy, son’s Dominick and Troy, daughter Kelly, 14 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and brother/sister in laws. Preceded in death by both of his parents, his sister Myra and ex-wife Karen.
