July 22, 1931 — September 29, 2023

Bountiful, UT

It is with mixed feelings we bid farewell to Dell Bryant Stringham, Jr. (1931-2023). While we are saddened at the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law and uncle, we rejoice at a life well lived and, most importantly, that he is reunited with his sweetheart, whom he has missed terribly these past five years.

Bryant was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 22nd, 1931, the third child of Dell Briant Stringham, Sr., and Hildegard Schreiner Stringham, and passed away in Bountiful, Utah, September 29th, 2023, at the age of 92.

In his youth, the family moved to Ogden, Utah, where he lived until he left home, and where his parents resided until their passing. Bryant attended schools in Ogden, including Ogden High School.

He served a proselyting mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Central States Mission, focusing his efforts with the Native Americans. After returning from his missionary service, he continued his education, attending Weber State and Brigham Young University.

It was while at BYU that he met and courted a lovely young woman named Beverly Burnett. They were married in the Salt Lake City, Utah, LDS Temple on September 2, 1955. Immediately after marrying, they moved to Chicago so Bryant could attend the MBA program at Northwestern University.

After completing his studies, he began work in finance and accounting at a number companies. It was during this time they welcomed their four children: Sandy (Scott) Johnson, Dell Scott (Robyn) Stringham, Diane (Lavon) Trusler, and Don B. (Jennifer) Stringham. During this time, the family lived in Costa Mesa, California, and then in San Jose, California, prior to moving to Livonia, Michigan, and then to Irvine, California, and finally, in retirement, to Bountiful, Utah. In every place they lived, they gathered lifelong friends.

Mom and Dad loved working as docents at ‘This is the Place State Park’ in Salt Lake City.  During this time, they were able to acquire and relocate to the park Beverly’s great grandfather’s pioneer cabin from Eden, Utah, where it stands to this day.

Dad and Mom loved to travel the world, especially with Mom’s brother, DeMar, and his wife Sharon. This ended when Mom began suffering from dementia, which took her life on May 29th, 2018.

Bryant is survived by his children and their spouses, 13 grandchildren, numerous great- grandchildren, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, many nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends.

A viewing and family visitation will be held on Friday, October 6th, 2023, from 6:00–8:00 p.m., at Russon Mortuary located at 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah. There will be a private family memorial on Saturday, October 7th, 2023, followed by interment at Bountiful Cemetery, next to his best friend and partner, Beverly.

In lieu of flowers, might we suggest a donation to a favorite charity as well as performing an act of kindness.

Thanks Dad, for a life well lived!
