Our beloved Dean Theodore Larsen passed away on May 15, 2026, in Bountiful, Utah. He was born on July 16, 1935, to Theodore and Opal Dilla Copen Larsen. He was raised in Mendon, Utah. Dean was the youngest of three children. Dean developed a lifelong love for dogs starting in his childhood. One of his first dogs was credited with saving his life on several occasions. Dean was no stranger to hard work, he grew up milking cows in the early morning before school, fixing fences, and farming alongside his father. He later enlisted in the US Army with his best friend and served in the Korean conflict. Upon returning home, he met DeAnn Mowlem at a dance, and they were soon married in the Logan Temple. Together, they raised three daughters: Janette, Teri, and Sherry. Our family shares many wonderful memories of hunting, fishing, camping, and boating with him. Professionally, Dean spent 35 years in civil service at Hill Air Force Base, serving in various supervisory positions. Following his retirement, he and DeAnn spent their winters as "snowbirds" in Arizona, and Nevada. They enjoyed many years with friends golfing, four-wheeling, boating, and exploring the great outdoors. Dean was married to his sweetheart for 66 years.
Dean is survived by his three daughters, Janette (Dave) Smith, Teri (Paul) Furse, and Sherry (Brett) George, 10 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Dean was preceded in death by his wife DeAnn, his parents, Theo and Opal Larsen; his sisters, Clara Maughan and Donna Buist; and his cherished grandson, Kody Smith.
