Dean Edwin Tibbitts

November 3, 1941 — November 2, 2021

Dean Edwin Tibbitts, 79, passed away peacefully at home in Kaysville, Utah, one day short of his eightieth birthday.

Dean was born to Orrin and Ethel Tibbitts, of Bountiful, Utah, on November 3, 1941. He married Susan Jill Beck on February 20, 1969, after meeting through the Speech Language Pathology program at BYU. They raised six children who are so grateful for lifelong lessons of faith and hard work.

Dean worked hard all of his life – in the service of God, for his family, on the farm he loved, and in his “day-job” as a salesman for a variety of products and companies. He has many loyal customers and lifelong friends, due in large part to his unfailing integrity, natural ability to befriend anyone regardless of their circumstances, and a service-oriented character that is unmatched. Dean has a tender heart and loves animals of all kinds, as evidenced by the many dogs, cats, horses, and birds that made their home under his care (not so much for skunks and raccoons, though).

Dean is happiest when doing for others and spent much of his time on this Earth in quiet service to family, neighbors, friends, customers, or even complete strangers. He could frequently be found working on one project or another – around the farm, tucked inside the engine of a car, or fixing, building, or troubleshooting just about anything because he really could do anything he put his mind to. The word “can’t” just was not in his vocabulary.

Dean is survived by his wife Susan, children Jeff (Wendy), Greg (Meganne), Steve (Melissa), Mark (Cristin), Jill Holmes (Stan), Spencer (Laci), and 24 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary, sister Jean Matthews, and granddaughter, Rebecca.

Funeral services will be held at 925 West Deseret Drive, Kaysville, on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 11am, with visitation that day from 9:45-10:45am. Additional visitation will be held on Friday, November 5 from 6-8pm at the Russon Mortuary, 1941 N Main St, Farmington. Interment in the Kaysville City Cemetery.

For those wishing to attend virtually, the service will be streamed live on Zoom:  https://zoom.us/j/96403209681?pwd=WGFnTDllYmRVczRhZUQ3dkc4Q2MrUT09
