Elizabeth Dawn Bolick, known affectionately as Dawn, was born on October 16, 1967, in Denver, Colorado. She passed away on October 17, 2026, in Logan, Utah. As her name suggests, she was a bright light in the lives of those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience.
Dawn was the daughter of Brenda M. Bolick, RN, and Phillip Coleman Bolick.
Her mother, Brenda, along with her maternal and paternal grandparents, brothers Jeremy and David, and numerous aunts and uncles, predeceased her. She is survived by her daughters, Cole and Mariska; her siblings, Jonathan and Sarah (Jon-Phillip); her father; many nieces and nephews; and her cherished friends, Ilda Berge (and the entire Berge Family) and Michelle Wooten. Dawn’s last few years were spent with her partner, Alex. She also leaves behind her feline friends, Duff McKagan and Rae Charles.
Dawn's early years were spent in Greenville, South Carolina, where she graduated from Riverside High School in the class of 1986 and was a proud member of the Riverside Cross Country and Track Teams. She continued her education at the University of Utah and later graduated from BYU Pathways Program. Her professional life was as diverse as it was fulfilling; she worked in retail sales, became a certified lactation consultant, ran her own house cleaning business, and served as an elementary school aide.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dawn was an active participant in the Logan 4th Ward and previously in the Greenville 2nd Ward. She loved being a temple worker at the Logan Temple where she found much needed peace and solace.
Her commitment to community extended to being a member of the ZTA Sorority and participating in the Utah PTA state leadership academy. She enjoyed volunteering, particularly at the local animal shelter. Her love for cats was well-known with some of her most cherished cats being Viktor Krum, Theodora, and her first cat, Greytop.
Dawn was a woman of many passions. She was an avid reader, shopping enthusiast, and collector of purses. One of her favorite hobbies was attending concerts, with Mötley Crüe being her all-time favorite band. She loved road trips and blasting music. She shared her love of music with her daughters, embodying the spirit of a true "Rocker Mom."
Her trips to libraries and bookstores were moments of joy, reflecting her love for stories and learning. Dawn was a fierce advocate for social justice and mental health, always striving to make a difference in the lives of others.
Her infectious laughter and storytelling ability could brighten any room. Dawn embraced her identity as a proud South Carolinian and Southern Belle. To honor her Southern upbringing, proper manners were very important to her and something she helped teach her cherished nephew “perfect gentleman Evan” along with other children she loved. She always dressed impeccably with matching shoes, jewelry, and lipstick. Dawn loved nail care and making sure she always had nail polish to match the seasons. Dawn and Sarah enjoyed sister time getting pedicures and going to dinner. Dawn’s talent for makeup and her generosity in sharing it with others, especially her daughters and her beloved niece, "Princess Violet," will be well-remembered. Dawn was a supporter of her family's artistic pursuits, always present at concerts, plays, art exhibits, football games, and marching band competitions.
Above all else, Dawn loved being a mother. She loved her daughters fiercely, and found that motherhood inspired her to be a better person. She embraced what makes her daughters unique and made sure to voice her love and support. Dawn fought hard for Cole and Mariska, inspiring strength, authenticity, and kindness in not only her daughters, but those around her.
