David Herbert Noakes

Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, David Herbert Noakes, age 91, passed away at his home on September 11, 2023 of natural causes.  David was born April 17, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to David Oakley Noakes and Beatrice Leona Rodeback Noakes.  He was the only son of four children.  David moved to Centerville in 1939, where he remained his entire life.  He graduated from Davis High School in 1951, where he met his precious wife, Marianne Page.  They were married shortly after in 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple; a marriage that lasted 71 years.  David was an electrical contractor who started Nu-Trend Electric.  He coached many Little League baseball teams.  He enjoyed membership in the Jaycee's, Lions Club, and Sons of the Utah Pioneers. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  After retirement, he and Marianne served three missions for the Church.  He was one of the first temple workers in the Bountiful Temple when it opened in 1995.  His children and grandchildren adored him.  David had a wonderful and fun sense of humor that was enjoyed by all.  

Preceded in death by his parents, sister Darlene Randall, granddaughter Suzette Thomson, and three great-grandchildren. 

Survived by his wife Marianne, children Sherrie (Dave) Goudy of West Bountiful UT, Bonnie Thomson of Centerville UT, Kurt (Jody) Noakes of Fountain Green UT, Craig (Maria) Noakes of Bountiful UT, and Lori (Darryl) Greco of Livermore CA, 19 grandchildren, and 48 great-grandchildren. 

A viewing will be held the evening of Thursday, September 14, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, UT.  Funeral services will be held Friday, September 15, in the Centerville 3rd Ward Chapel, 400 East 900 South, Centerville, UT at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior to services from 9:30 - 10:45 am.

Funeral services will be streamed live on the Russon Brothers Facebook page and on this obituary page. The live stream will begin 10-15 minutes prior to the service and will be posted below.
