A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024, at the age of 91, in Bountiful, Utah.

She was born May 31, 1933, in Tooele, Utah to Joshua Dridge Brown and Blanche Heggie Brown. She married Gordon H. Lee on August 20, 1954, in the Salt Lake Temple. He passed away in 2014, just prior to their 60th Wedding Anniversary.

She lived in Tooele, Provo and Bountiful, Utah.

Darlene attended schools in Tooele, where she was a member of the band, pep club and L.D.S. Seminary. She graduated from Tooele High School in 1951. She attended Brigham Young University where she was active in the band and an officer in the Lamba Delta Sigma Social Unit, Omega.

She was employed at the Tooele L.D.S. Distribution Center and worked at the Tooele Army Depot. She served in the 4-H Program and PTA for many years. She enjoyed cooking and had a wonderful talent for making baked goods and she loved planning events for family vacations, birthdays, and holidays.

Always active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Darlene has served with faithful devotion in its many auxiliaries including Ward Young Women’s President, Stake Young Women’s Counselor, Primary, Relief Society and Sunday School. She was Stake Gleaner Representative and received the Golden Gleaner Award. She served in the Provo Temple, with the CES, and as a volunteer at the Missionary Training Center.

She was a member of the Cougar Club and avidly attended BYU athletic events and the performing arts.

She was a loving mother to her three children: Diane Lee Priday (Bruce), Overland Park, KS; Sharon Lee Stokes (David), North Salt Lake, UT; and Gary Lee (Carolyn), North Salt Lake, UT. She loved her grandchildren: Lindsay Priday, Kristen Priday Moss (Paul), Eric Stokes, Megan Stokes Jarrett (Nate), Melissa Lee Weight (Justin), Nathan Lee (Brianna), and Ryan Lee (McKenzie). Great-grandchildren: Parker, Isaac and Sadie Moss; Lincoln and Katie Jarrett; Brynne, Katelynn, Hailey, Laura, and Whitney Weight; Gracie, Jackson, and Hannah Lee; and Adeline, Brooklynn and Saige Lee. 

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Colleen Elton, and three grandchildren, Jeremy and Amy Stokes, and Ashley Priday. 

Funeral Services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Bountiful Tabernacle, 55 South Main, Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will also be that day from 10:15 – 11:15 a.m. at the same location. The burial will be that day at 3:00 p.m. at the Tooele City Cemetery, 400 South 100 East, Tooele, Utah.  Memories may be shared in the "Guestbook" on this obituary page.
