Surrounded by love, Daniel Raymond Evans passed away peacefully at home on April 16, 2023.
Dan was born January 21, 1937 the youngest of 8 children of Nettie Lorena Myerhoff and John Williams Evans. He was raised in Salt Lake City and attended West High School where he met his sweetheart who would soon become his wife.
Dan was resourceful, hard working and determined in providing for his family. His career revolved primarily in the building and construction industry. He was active in his church and community. He served in many church callings in the wards and stakes of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Dan was friendly and always made an effort to get to know his neighbors. He was always willing to help family and friends. He loved to golf in his retirement years and had many happy memories of time spent with family and friends on the green.
Dan married his sweetheart, Renee Poulsen on June 29, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple. Married for almost 67 years he often told her and everyone else how much he loved her. They raised 5 children of their own, and Renee's younger brother Dennis, who Dan loved like a son. His family appreciated his devotion to both work and play, and will always treasure memories of time spent together at the lake, hunting, fishing, golfing and family gatherings. He gave great hugs!
He is survived by his adoring wife, Renee; sons Stephen (Becky) Rodney (Roni) daughter Gail (F. Von Steenblik) and daughter in law Laurie; 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. Dan is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his daughter Jennifer(Budt) and son Kevin.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the Salt Lake Cemetery, 200 N Street, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah.
