Craig Reese Morris, age 79, of Fruit Heights, Utah, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026. Born on March 17, 1947, in Ogden, Utah, to Sybella Moon and Jack Reese Morris, Craig lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and an absolute love for the game of golf.
A lifelong and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Craig loved the gospel and found great purpose and community in his faith. After graduating from Ogden High School, he attended Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Business and Marketing. A talented athlete, he proudly made history as a member of Weber State’s first-ever golf team. This experience sparked a passion for the sport and an internal drive for excellence, that he carried with him throughout his entire life and eagerly passed on to his two sons.
Above all else, Craig loved his family. For more than 50 years, he was the beloved husband of Shanna Butcher Morris. Together, they built a beautiful life. He was a dedicated father to his two sons, Robert Craig Morris and John Joseph Morris, who will forever remember him for his unwavering support, steadfast faith, and gentle guidance. Whenever life's challenges threatened to hook or slice into the rough, Craig was always there with a steady hand, helping his boys navigate the obstacles and find the fairway again.
Professionally, Craig spent a successful career working in sales and management, bringing his warm personality to everything from his time at KZAN to representing food products for Western United States grocers. He was known for his integrity, his strong follow-through, and his remarkable ability to always wedge a little extra time into his schedule for anyone who needed a hand. Outside of his career and church service, he could almost always be found out on the course lining up the perfect putt, or spending cherished time with his loved ones.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Shanna; his sons, Robert (Julare) and John (Amber); and his eight grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. Craig was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Jackie Baddley, and his two brothers, Larry and Tim Morris.
