Connor Douglas Leonard
1/14/2012 - 9/5/2025
Our hearts are broken and our lives are shattered with the loss of our sweet baby boy, who died Sept. 5 in a tragic accident. Connor was the ringleader of our family circus. He was such an amazing big brother to his little brother, Mason, and little sister, Penny, whom he loved with all his heart. Connor loved so many things and got to explore so many hobbies with his dad. He loved to go on road trips, listen to music, cook, fly fish, play video games and airsoft, ride bicycles, scooters and especially ride his prized possession … his electric dirt bike.
When Connor loved something, he put his whole heart into finding out every aspect of it and became an expert. He was an excellent teacher and shared the things he learned in such a way that was tailored to each individual. Connor was so smart and had a gift for speaking with people of all ages, even convincing them — particularly at stores and fast-food restaurants — to give him free food or other complimentary items. When he spoke to you, you were important and he treated you as if you were the only one in the room. Connor’s confidence and persistence were unmatched, and if he wanted it, he would pull all the stops to achieve his goal, never thinking it wasn’t possible.
Connor’s sense of humor and his smile were his best characteristics. He had such an amazing presence with a beautiful and inviting smile. He was wise beyond his years and we always felt he had a much older soul. He was also a very good artist, though he wouldn’t admit it.
Outside of home, Connor struggled to recognize and understand that he was loved. Everything he did was in seeking love and acceptance from those around him and he was so friendly and inclusive of everyone. He wanted to be the life of the party and have many friends. Connor also struggled with anxiety and depression and felt things so deeply. He had finally found acceptance in a group of friends he met while attending Farmington Junior High School, where he was in the 8th grade, many of whom were with him when he passed away, doing what he loved most.
Connor also had a special bond with all of his cousins and looked up to each of them. He loved family “get-togethers,” as he called them, where he got to spend time with his cousins. He looked forward to the annual Leonard Family Bear Lake trip to ride jet skis, kayak and hang out with his cousins in the hot tub. He loved spending time with all of his extended family, including aunts, uncles and grandparents — whether it was sharing funny stories, playing games, watching movies, going to the dollar store or giving the best hugs ever.
Connor was destined for greatness and we looked forward to seeing him continually succeed in his life. He was always too big for this world and he knew it. He has now taken his amazing gifts to the other side, where we know he will accomplish great things and do so much good.
We love you, Connor!
Connor is preceded in death by his grandfather, Douglas Litster. He is survived by his parents, Mandy and Jake Leonard, his brother Mason (10) and his sister Penny (5), grandpa and grandma Don and Julie Leonard and grandma Becky Litster, aunts and uncles, and 12 Leonard cousins.
