Connie Mae Baker, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, at the age of 88 after a courageous battle with FTD Dementia. Born on April 25, 1938, to Ted and Fay Hepworth, Connie was raised in West Bountiful and lived a life filled with love, devotion, hard work, and deep compassion for those around her.

Connie was the cherished wife of Sherd “Jerry” Armond Baker, with whom she shared 63 wonderful years of marriage and enduring love. Together they built a family that became the center of Connie’s world. She was a proud and loving mother to Cindy (Kevin) Mathias, Breck (Tina) Baker, Kari (Bill) Wernli, Todd Baker, and Lisa (Derek) Walton. Her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was always her family. She is survived by her children, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

She is also survived by her loving sister, Margie Cook. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Fay Hepworth; her brother, Ted Hepworth; her beloved husband, Jerry Baker; her beloved son, Todd Baker; and her beloved grandchildren, Sheila Baker and Cheralyn Drazon.

Connie had a gentle spirit and a heart as beautiful as the flowers she lovingly tended in her garden. She found peace and happiness riding horses, spending time outdoors, and loving and caring for all of her animals. She loved being a member of the Twin Stars Riding Club and creating a warm and welcoming home for those she loved. Connie dedicated 50 years of service as the manager of Karleen’s Giftshop, where her kindness, work ethic, and friendly smile touched countless lives throughout the years.

In her later years, Connie was surrounded by extraordinary love and care. Her children Breck, Kari, and Lisa devoted themselves tirelessly to her comfort and happiness, showing her the same unwavering love she had given them throughout their lives. Her grandchildren, Braxton Kopecky, Bree Walton, and Fayth Naylor, also lovingly cared for her during her final days, bringing comfort, strength, and companionship that meant so much to her and the entire family.

The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to AMG and CNS Care Services for the compassionate and attentive care they provided Connie.

Connie will be remembered for her loving heart, quiet strength, devotion to family, and the warmth she brought into every room. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and grace.
