August 27, 1939 - February 19, 2021
Funeral Home Russon Mortuary Bountiful
Coleen Mae Bingham Snow of Bountiful, Utah peacefully returned to her celestial home and the loving arms of her parents on February 19, 2021. She was born on August 27, 1939 in Santa Maria, California to Victor Bingham and Marjorie Olson. She was raised on a dairy farm in Vernal, Utah, where she learned the value of family love, hard work, and responsibility as the oldest of 6 children. While a teenager she was the Dairy Princess of Uintah County. In high school she was a good student, and she won the “I Speak for Democracy” contest. She was active in theater and was awarded the lead role in several plays.
Coleen attended Brigham Young University, where she met her eternal sweetheart Claude Ray Snow. They were married on September 10, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. Coleen and Claude are the proud parents of 8 children and raised their family in West Covina, California and Bountiful, Utah.
Coleen was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many callings including activities committee member, Primary teacher and presidency counselor, Young Women leader, and as Relief Society president of the Heritage Place Retirement Center. In 2007-2008, Coleen and Claude served a mission together in Everett, Washington.
She worked for several years as recreation director at Heritage Place. The residents loved her for the great respect and compassion she had for them.
Coleen’s family brought her immense joy. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never forgot to acknowledge a birthday or special occasion in their lives, and went to great lengths to support and serve her family. Through the years, she and Claude opened their home to many family members and friends who were also blessed by her warm and generous heart.
She enjoyed crocheting and was a talented poet. She could often be found with camera or video camera in hand and cherished the photos of those she loved. She always took “one more picture for safety.” She loved cooking for her family and friends. No one ever went away hungry from Coleen’s home.
She is survived by her husband Claude, their 8 children David (Carrie) Snow, Shereen (Glen) Adams, Eddie (Lisa) Snow, Vicki (Scott) Carter, Karen (Scott) Mogilefsky, Ryan (Brittany) Snow, Michael (Emily) Snow, and Matthew (Tasha) Snow, 31 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, and her siblings Roland (Sharon) Bingham, Nina Rae (Soren) Andersen, Thomas (Joyce) Bingham, Margene (Blaine) Bushman, and Ilene (Robert) Bingham. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Ethan Ellis.
