Clyde Keith Thompson

August 16, 1930 — February 9, 2021

After a lifetime of love and service to his family, friends, country and church Clyde Keith Thompson passed away peacefully in his home February 9, 2021. Clyde (or Keith) was born on August 16, 1930 in Ogden, Utah to Clyde C. Thompson and Grace E. Kenyon. He was raised in Salt Lake in the Avenues and attended West High School. He joined the United States Air Force in 1948. While in bootcamp he was converted and baptized a member of  The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in the Korean War. Afterwards, he returned home attending the U of U and received a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing. He continued his career in the Air Force and Air National Guard for 30 years retiring as a Lt. Colonel. After crashing a church dance in Salt Lake, he met his sweetheart, Sharon Walker, a farm girl from Clifton, Idaho. They were sealed in the Logan Temple on March 14, 1958. Keith and Sharon bought a home in Bountiful where they raised four adorable Daughters and one unique Son. Dad lived his life to love and serve his family. He loved family trips, camping, and driving around town with a diet coke in his hand. But his favorite activity was when the family gathered for Sunday dinners where he made his delicious roast, pork and chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy complimented by Sharon’s homemade rolls. The house was filled with laughter and craziness and that’s the way he loved it! He has friendships that have lasted a lifetime. He served in various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as a temple worker for many years. His favorite calling was being a home teacher and friend to those he served. He loved everyone, never, saying an unkind word about anyone. Keith left behind his 5 children: Leslie (Dean) Winslow, Shellene (Mark) Clark, Michael (Michelle) Thompson, Traci Thompson, and Nicole (Mark) Parker, 23 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his eternal companion, Sharon, his parents, his brother, baby sister and great granddaughter, Mirabel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, where a viewing will be held prior to the funeral at 9:00-10:30 a.m.  In light of Covid, the family requests all who attend to wear face masks and keep social distancing.
