Christine Jones Flanders, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2026, in Kaysville, Utah, surrounded by her loving family.
Chris was born on December 28, 1956, in Tooele, Utah, to Phillip Evan Jones and Joy Marie Davis Jones. She grew up in Sandy, Utah, where she made many cherished memories and developed a love of family, faith, and learning that would guide her throughout her life.
Chris graduated from Brighton High School in 1975 and later earned an associate degree from Weber State University in 2005.
On April 29, 1977, Chris married the love of her life, Gordon Claudius Flanders, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on faith, love, family, and service to others.
Chris dedicated many years to the Davis School District, working in a variety of capacities. She especially loved teaching music and reading with children in resource classes at elementary schools. Her patience, kindness, and genuine love for children touched countless young lives.
As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Chris found great joy in serving others. From 2016 to 2024, she served as a missionary at the FamilySearch Center, where she shared her passion for genealogy and family history. She loved discovering family connections and helping others learn about their ancestors. To Chris, family history was more than names and dates; it was a way to bring generations together and keep precious memories alive.
Above all else, Chris treasured her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, creating memories through hiking, baking, biking, reading, and sharing her love of family history. She had a special gift for making ordinary moments meaningful and helping those around her feel loved.
Chris is survived by her caring and loving husband, Gordon Flanders; her children, Charity (Bryan) Richardson, Phillip (Ashlie) Flanders, Peter (Katie) Flanders, and Marie (Rust) Mickelson; her beloved 14 grandchildren; and her sister, Deon Jones Myerson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip Evan Jones and Joy Marie Davis Jones, and her younger brother, David Evan Jones.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the knowledge that families are eternal and that the love she shared will continue through generations.
