On rare occasion, God sends a perfect soul to earth. Not someone without flaws, but someone with a perfect talent needed to bless the lives of others. Christian was one such soul.
Christian Brian Stewart passed away the morning of July 10, 2026. He died peacefully, which is also how he lived his life.
Christian was born in Virginia, a state he always loved. He attended Colin Powell and Bull Run Elementary schools, Lunsford Middle School, and Freedom High School.
Later he lived in Utah, a state he had mixed feelings about. There he attended Reading Elementary, Ascent Academy, Viewmont High School, and Snow College.
He played varsity high school football as an 8th grader, at which point he stopped growing. He loved stake dances until he got asked to not return after setting off confetti poppers.
His work life was varied. He somehow managed to work 19 different jobs varying from a pretzel maker, mortician, pest control, congressional intern, and political door knocker. And yet amazingly, still had no money.
He loved modern prophets and conference talks. Even as a teenager, he had a favorite apostle: Neil L. Andersen. What 17-year-old has a favorite apostle?
He served a successful LDS mission in Bentonville, Arkansas, where he thrived and where his testimony of the gospel took root, multiplied, and served to bless the lives of many.
He was the kind of person who, if you complimented something of his, would ask if you wanted it. He usually meant it.
He loved bad sports teams, the Jets and the Mets, for reasons no one could explain, but his loyalty never wavered. He loved hoodies, politics, and the family cabin. But at his core, he loved people and conversations. He had a gift for meeting anyone with genuine interest, and he could make you feel better just by talking with you. He was too young to know how rare that was, or how much it meant to the people around him.
Some people bless the lives around them without ever seeming to try. Christian was one of them.
Christian is survived by his parents, Cody and Mary Stewart; his siblings, Caitlin (Jeff) Blotter, Camden, Westin, Will, and London Stewart; his niece Penny, and nephew, Jack; and countless grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who knew his goodness, felt his kindness, and loved him deeply.
A bed sits empty. There is a vacant seat at our dinner table. The world is a little less bright without him in it. But we will see him again.
