Chase Andrew Tate, beloved husband, son, grandson, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2024, at the young age of 39. Born in Bountiful, Utah, he was born the second of four children to Mike Tate and Lisa Ann Farr. Born the largest baby of the family at nine pounds, a sign of the giant teddy bear he would grow up to be, standing at 6'5" as an adult.
As a child, Chase found joy in playing basketball and baseball, activities that sparked his lifelong love of sports. He became a dedicated fan of the Utah Utes, a passion he shared with his father and grandfathers. He was also a loyal supporter of the Boston Red Sox, a love he shared with his older brother who was his best friend. He grew up skateboarding and snowboarding, which grew his love of the outdoors and the Utah Mountains.
Chase was a man who left a lasting impression, and everyone who knew him has a "Chase saying" they can recall. He was quick with a joke, often responding to conversations with witty movie quotes that perfectly fit the moment. He and his siblings particularly loved quoting The Simpsons, recalling episodes from their childhood and adding to the laughter that filled their lives.
For 11 beautiful years, Chase shared his life with his devoted wife, Ashley, and their beloved corgi, Biggie. Together, they created beautiful memories, not only in their home but also during many travels, exploring new places and sharing adventures. Their home was filled with laughter and love, often accompanied by Chase’s spontaneous singing of made-up lyrics and impromptu dancing. He had a quick wit and a remarkable ability to make those around him laugh, brightening every room he entered.
Chase had a special love for the outdoors, particularly camping in the Utah mountains, where he felt most at peace. His favorite candy, Snickers, and his quirky obsession with Gordon Lightfoot were just a few of the unique traits that made him unforgettable to those who knew him.
Chase is survived by his wife, Ashley; his parents, Mike, Sherrie Lou and Lisa Ann; his siblings Cody, Alyssa (Seth & Keegan) and C. Mckay (Justin & Gus), his grandmother’s Karen and Pat as well as the many friends who were like family. Chase was preceded in death by Grandfathers, Terry Tate and Andrew Farr, Uncles James Farr and Jim Tate, Aunt Jayna Farr, Cousin Jacob Moulton; Mother-in-law, Colleen Green and Father-in-law Malin Green who will all greet him in the afterlife with open arms.
His adventurous spirit, infectious laughter, and deep love for life and family will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
