Our sweet Charlotte made it back to her heavenly home to join her Heavenly Parents, Jesus Christ, and countless family members who love her. It brings us peace to imagine her dancing with Jesus, encircled by her loved ones on the other side of the veil.
The first words her mother said when she was born were, “Wow, she is beautiful.” Charlotte only became more and more beautiful throughout her life. She had a gift for spreading love and light to everyone around her. Her joyful, contagious laugh made everyone feel happier.
Charlotte taught us all what truly matters in life. She was never interested in toys, TV, or things. People are what mattered to Charlotte. Anyone who had the chance to look eye-to-eye with Charlotte could sense the purity of her soul, and the flood of love she conveyed with just a little interaction. A family friend once noted that holding Charlotte was the closest to heaven he had ever felt. This experience rang true for so many who were blessed to spend time with her.
Charlotte had a special relationship with each of her siblings. We could always count on Haden to make her smile and laugh. The many hours Baylynne spent reading to Charlotte and rocking her will help make her a wonderful mother one day. Carlos Don made sure to hold her and connect on a daily basis and was always aware of her needs.
Charlotte loved being with her mom and dad, Jenna and Carlos, and they will forever treasure the peaceful hours spent caring for her. So many hours of Charlotte's life were spent one-on-one with her mom, who viewed that time as a sacred gift. Carlos noted that "Jenna has kept every promise she made to Charlotte, and Charlotte has kept every promise she made to Jenna." They truly cherished each other. Carlos gently cared for Charlotte with the tenderness of a loving father. Their bond with Charlotte is deep and eternal.
Charlotte had a big mission and changed the lives of hundreds of people. Although not known at the time, Charlotte was born with Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy. She seemed to develop normally for the first year of life - crawling, walking along furniture, and saying a few precious words: mama, dada, Dixie (our dog), hi, love you, and Jesus. As her disorder progressed, she lost many physical abilities but her ability to love never diminished. Although she spoke few words in her life, she had a divine ability to communicate with her spirit. We will always remember the way she held our face and gave us loving kisses on the cheek.
It is hard to put into words just how much Charlotte changed our hearts. We have been greatly blessed these past seven years and we know that she will continue to bless us. Charlotte radiated the purest love. Her love is closer to Christ’s love than anything we have ever felt.
We wish that everyone could have a Charlotte in their lives. She loved us with her whole heart. Even in the end of her life, she put her family’s needs first. It has been our greatest honor and privilege to raise and care for our sweet girl.
We will miss her everyday until we are reunited again. We praise our Heavenly Parents for sharing such a beautiful soul with us. We are forever grateful for the plan of happiness which will allow for Charlotte to be back in our arms one day.
