Carolynne Hughes Bodrero Guiste

Carolynne Hughes Bodrero Guiste passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 25, 2026. 

Born on August 9, 1942, in Bountiful, Utah, to Charles Herman Hughes and Velma Jeppson Hughes, Carolynne was the only daughter among six children and was lovingly known as “Little Sis” by her brothers. She attended Bountiful Junior High and graduated from Bountiful High School. 

Carolynne was a dedicated and creative worker throughout her life. She began working in her family’s business, Herm Hughes and Sons, and later became one of the early phone operators at Mountain Bell. She went on to work at Sears, where her talent for design and display earned her recognition and awards. She had a natural gift for cooking, baking, and sewing, and found great joy in tending her yard, where she lovingly cultivated her favorite flowers. Carolynne had a love for all animals, especially her many beloved cats.

Along with her first husband, Melvin Atwood, Carolynne was the proud mother of four children: Kaylene Hyatt, Brenda Ahre (Robert), Trena Williams, and Jason Atwood (James). She cherished her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. 

Carolynne shared meaningful chapters of her life with Ronald Dee Bodrero and later with her beloved husband, Stanley Guiste. Together, she and Stanley built a life surrounded by the beauty of their Pennsylvania property—filled with flowers, wildlife, and peaceful moments spent exploring and enjoying nature. 

Carolynne had a gift for making those around her feel deeply loved and cherished. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. 

She has returned to her heavenly home to be reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Her love lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed. 

Mom, as we have always said: “Love you always and 44-ever in our hearts and souls.” 

A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Russon Mortuary located at 295 N Main St, Bountiful, UT 84010. 

Burial services will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bountiful City Cemetery located at 2224 S 200 W, Bountiful, UT 84010. 

Following the services, a luncheon will be held at an LDS Church located at 1930 N 600 W, West Bountiful, UT 84087.
