Carol Dee Green Rucker

March 5, 1935 — June 5, 2025

Bountiful, UT

Carol Dee (Green) Rucker quietly slipped away at the age of 90, surrounded by her family on June 5, 2025. She was born on March 5, 1935, to Norma Harris Green and Evan Dee Green. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Dick (Sharon) Green & Bob Green, her beloved husband Fred Walker Rucker, and her son Joel Dee Rucker. Carol had four brothers and is survived by two: Steve Green (Kathy) and Roger Green (Karen) as well as a sister-in-law Joanne Green wife to late Bob Green.

Carol met the love of her life, Fred Walker Rucker, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 13, 1956. They shared 64 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised four children: Jaren (Yan), Laurie (Rafe), Lynette (Brad), and their son Joel Dee (Denise), who preceded her in death.

She was blessed with ten grandchildren: Ebony Rucker Lucero, Anthony Joel Rucker (Ally), Austin Rix Vander Velpen (John), Whitney Harris, Willy Harris (Tori), Lexie Merrill (Agustin), Jamie Rucker (Katie), Xin Peng Lu (Ruby), and Leena Rucker Hall (Cooper). She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished, supported, and loved.

Later in life, Fred and Carol served a mission together for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New York. Carol also faithfully served in many church callings throughout her life. She was a loving and devoted disciple of Christ and always let the Lord light her way.

Carol was a dedicated schoolteacher for many years, known for her bright spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering positivity, even through life’s challenges. She found joy in simple pleasures: reading, crocheting, quilting, and coloring. Many loved ones were blessed with her handmade blankets.

A devoted mother and constant source of strength for her family, Carol brought light and laughter into every room. Her example taught us to cherish our faith and prioritize time with family. Carol now rejoices in a heavenly reunion with the love of her life, Fred, and their beloved son Joel, whom she missed for over 30 years. She continues her creative passions in heaven, surrounded by those she longed to see.

The family extends heartfelt thanks for the love and support shown by Welcome Home and Dignity hospice.
