Carol Carter Rees

August 3, 1942 — February 10, 2026

Our loving wife, mother, sister and friend Carol Carter Rees passed away on February 10, 2026.

Born August 3, 1942, to Wesley C. and Mary Hall Carter.

When she was two months old, her father took her to the Pioneer Ward chapel and gave her a name and a blessing. To her mother's great surprise, he gave her the name of Carol, which was his middle name. Before the meeting, the name of Marilyn had been decided on for her. Now her dad had two children named after him, Wesley Kent, and Carol. As soon as Carol could talk, her mother told her she was named after her daddy-Carol Carter, Jr. So, she told her friends her name was Carol Carter Jr. High School.

Carol was blessed with four children: Scott, Kristine, Brett, and Kurt.

Carol married Kay V. Rees on May 6, 2006. Blessing her with four step children: Roger, Roxanne, Lonnie, Nickie. Active members of The Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They serviced an Inter-City Mission and loved every minute. They often spent their winters in Hurricane, Utah, in their RV. They enjoyed family activities, traveling and trips to Bear Lake.

Carol completed several classes with the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and the International Association of Assessing Officers. Carol received a promotion as real estate loan officer for Commercial Security Bank in Sugarhouse. She previously served as an appraiser for the bank.

In 1998 she was elected Davis County Assessor.

Carol suffered ill health and complications from celiac disease in the past few years, but was optimistic and cheerful, bringing laughter and joy into the lives of others.

Carol is survived by her husband, Kay V. Rees, children: Scott (Kirk), Kris (Earl) Brett (Reggie), Kurt (Vicki), step-children: Roxanne (Gordan), Roger (Darlene), Lonnie (Patience), Nickie (Rich) Grandchildren: Jennifer (JC), Jonathan (Russ), Heather, Blake (Aaron), Nicholas.
