Carol Anne Boss Rawlins

Carol Anne Boss Rawlins, age 88 passed away on July 25, 2025, after a well-fought battle with Parkinsons Disease. Carol was born October 18, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah the second of two children to Anton (Tony) Steiger Boss and Alice Mann Boss.

Carol grew up in Salt Lake City and Davis County where she attended both South High School and Davis High School. She was active in choir, drama, and as a cheerleader. Go Darts! She worked at JA Hogle after High School. She married Robert (Bob) Rawlins on November 23, 1957, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on November 23, 2010.

In addition to raising three daughters, Carol held several jobs. Some included a bakery, a nursery, counseling department at Bountiful High, and her final job at Mountain Fuel Supply Company. She loved serving in several LDS church positions and as PTA President at Stoker School in Bountiful. She had a love for learning and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Utah in 1991 at the age of 55.

Carol loved people, music, gardening, word jumbles, and quilting. She sang the Messiah in The Oratorio Society for 7 years, and sang with the Bountiful Sweet Adelines. Her yard was always well groomed and full of beautiful flowers. After retirement, quilting was her passion. She made several award-winning quilts. She made and worked on many many quilts and blankets for her family, friends and Ward members.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie Barlow (Garrick), Jan Rawlins, and Shelli Perri; four grandchildren, Mike, Jessie, Andi, and John; and 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, her brother Gordon, and son-in-law, John.

A family service will be held in her honor. Please join us for a celebration of Carol’s life and her memory on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Bountiful 9th Ward, 585 East Center, Bountiful, Utah, from 2-4 p.m. Thanks to the Legacy staff who were always cheerful and helpful.
