Bryce Delos Huff

Dec 7, 1979 — Oct 2, 2026

Bryce Delos Huff was born on December 7, 1979, in Centerville, Utah, the youngest of seven children born to Dale and Lea Huff. He grew up in a loving neighborhood surrounded by lifelong friends, with whom he explored hills and streams, played night games, and made memories that lasted throughout his life.

The son of an engineer, Bryce’s determination and ability to overcome challenges was formed working under a Subaru with his dad. Through his mother, he gained a love and talent for baking rolls and pies. His parents ensured that he would grow close to his siblings through work in their large garden and serving their neighbors. The skills his family bestowed upon him blessed the lives of those he loved more times than can be remembered.

He continued to stay close with his siblings as they grew into adulthood. Bryce had unconditional love for his siblings, and just being with him made them feel treasured. They loved being together, whether work or play. Not only did Bryce remain close with his siblings, but he was a beloved uncle to more than 60 nieces and nephews. They all adored him and he was a great influence on their lives.

Through his school years, Bryce formed friendships that became meaningful and lasting influences throughout his life. After graduating from Viewmont High School, Bryce served an LDS mission in Little Rock, Arkansas. During his mission, he developed a deep love for the scriptures. He shared the message of love, hope, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His faith in the Savior forged him into a disciple that would remain a faithful and committed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints throughout his life.

Bryce had an immense love for the beautiful world we live in. He felt at home the most when he was camping lakeside in the mountains, looking at the stars. He shared his knowledge of the wild with those he loved as he taught how to “bust a coal.” Starting these fires was often done with a beloved yucca plant.

Many of his most formative years were spent working as a TrailWalker for the Anasazi Foundation Wilderness Therapy Program in Arizona. These times with teens were amplified as he worked on Deseret Land and Livestock as a pioneer trek coordinator. These experiences shaped Bryce and expounded his love for nature. He loved sharing the stories of the people he encountered. Truly, Bryce “never met a stranger, just a friend he hadn’t made yet.”

Bryce earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah, an MBA from Utah State University, and a master’s degree in Conflict Resolution from the University of Oregon. He was most recently employed by Bank of Utah as Senior Vice President and Team Lead in Equipment Finance. Throughout his professional and personal life, Bryce had a remarkable ability to create peace with the people he was with. He saw challenges as opportunities and knew how to find a way forward when things seemed formidable.

While in college, Bryce made what he considered the best decision of his life. He married his sweetheart, Melissa Joy Baggaley, in the Salt Lake Temple on October 11, 2005.

Eternal companions, Bryce and Melissa were blessed with seven children —six sons, Calvin Dale, Simon Lowell, Levi Bryce, Hyrum Leo, Caleb Thomas, and James Delos (Jimmy), and one daughter, Marjorie Joy (Maggie).

His family was the center of Bryce’s world. Bryce had an amazing ability to love all people, but he held a place in his heart solely for his children. He invested his time into his kids by taking them on backpacking trips, early morning wakeboard runs, and attending sports games. He loved using these times with his children to teach them the lessons he learned from his unique life experiences. Bryce understood their divine potential and pushed them to be better each day.

Because Bryce loved the gospel, he found joy in teaching his kids the doctrine of Christ. They were truly blessed to be given such a great example that they will continue to look to for guidance. He was always someone they knew they could talk to about anything.

On October 2, 2026, while working with two of his sons, Bryce suffered a sudden cardiac event. We are profoundly grateful to the many medical professionals, first responders, and others who worked tirelessly to care for Bryce during those final hours.

Though his time with us was far too short, Bryce lived a life rich in faith, learning, adventure, service, relationships, and love. No one can deny that Bryce was different than the rest of us. He bettered the lives of so many through his boundless love. He leaves an enormous space in the hearts of those who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family, friends, and children.

Bryce is survived by his wife and children listed above, his mother, Lea Huff, his siblings Heather (Rolan) Bloomfield, Holly (Shawn) Moore, Shawndale (Robyn) Huff, Christy (Jayson) Evans, Derek (Erin) Huff, Teesh (C.J.) Murray. Preceded in death by his father Dale Delos Huff.
