Bryant; better known as Bry, dad, and grandpa; passed away peacefully in his home December 2, 2025 from natural causes. He was surrounded by his wife and many family members leading up to the day of his passing.
Bry was born in Ogden Utah on March 11,1937 to Walter Frederick Grossenbach Jr. and Sarah Taggart Grossenbach. Bryant grew up around many Taggart family members. They enjoyed many gatherings in the back yards and at family reunions with cousins up in Morgan and Huntsville Utah. Several stories were shared about his time spent with his grandpa and grandma Grossenbach just outside Ashton Idaho at their log home. He absolutely loved it up there. Bryant and Anne spent some vacations up there when their children were young; staying in a guest cabin on the property. It was very common for bears to wander around the cabins.
Bry held a variety of different jobs in his younger years before starting his lifetime career in banking. At one of his jobs, he played the piano in a jazz band throughout and after High School at many different venues.
Bry’s greatest treasure was his wife, Anne Dudman. They were introduced by two friends at Ogden High School and later married in the Logan Temple on July 8, 1958. Together they raised five wonderful children. His family was his pride and joy. Together they shared countless hours at family reunions, vacations to many National Parks, camping, hiking and boating at several different lakes throughout the West. He had great passion and respect for the outdoors, where he enjoyed fly fishing and lots of hunting.
He talked often about many wonderful friends, colleagues and experiences he had during his professional career as a banker. Bry began his career in banking at the early age of 16. His uncle, Dan Taggart, was a teller at Commercial Security Bank of Ogden and helped get him hired as a clerk part time while going to school. When Anne and Bry moved to Bountiful, he continued working for several banks, including; Walker Bank, First Security Bank and Wells Fargo in Salt Lake City. Bry was an avid golfer which brought him many opportunities to golf with friends and clients. This passion guided him to join Under Par Golf in Bountiful, with his son Todd, after he had retired from banking. Working there helped him achieve his prized accomplishment in getting his Golf Instructor Certificate.
Bryant held many church callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; with his most favorite being out in the mountains camping and canoeing with Scouts or the Young Men. Bryant is survived by his wife; Anne Dudman Grossenbach; his five children; Lauri (Mark) Hansen; Shelly (Chad) Salmon; Scott (Kendall) Grossenbach; Todd (Kim) Grossenbach; Matthew (Stacey) Grossenbach. 25 grandchildren; 31 (soon to be) 32 great grandchildren. Three brothers and their wives; Jim (Vickie) Grossenbach; Richard (Cherlyn) Grossenbach; Thayne (Karen) Grossenbach. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karen Kay, at the age of 6mos.
We will miss his funny little sayings and rhymes, teaching the grandkids the many different ways he could whistle and the many golf and fly-fishing tips. “Hope there’s a golf course in Heaven dad”! We Love You!
