Brooks passed away Monday night, December 15, 2025 at his home in Kaysville, Utah.
He was born April 30, 1998 in Layton, Utah. He’s the son of Kristine and the late Timothy Clinton Wangsgaard. Brooks is the first born of six kids and a twin. He and his twin brother were due June 19th 1998, but came sooner than expected. He has grown into an amazing man. His journey here has been an adventure. He’s a meek and loving son. He strived to do good. He always did his best – even though he felt like it was never enough.
When Brooks was young, he observed everything. He was quiet, funny, and soaked in so much information. He learned best by watching others and hands on. His laugh was so contagious, his eyes sparkled when he smiled.
He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Omaha Nebraska Mission from November 2016 to November 2018. He had some great missionary companions as well as other elders that have made lasting impressions and have helped him feel loved.
After Brooks’ mission, he took EMT and CNA courses at Davis Tech College. He worked at Fairfield Village in Layton as a CNA for about a year before he moved to Rigby, Idaho to go to BYU-I. He graduated in three years with his Bachelor of Science degree in Marriage and Family Studies in July 2025. He had his papers set in motion to start on his Master’s Degree.
He was currently employed with Davis School District at Central Davis Junior High helping students catch up on homework.
Some things Brooks loved to do are be outside in nature, fishing, hiking, running, and camping. He loved his family and friends with all his heart. He loved reading books but his most favorite has always been “The Book of Mormon”.
What most people don’t know is he battled depression for many years. It’s a war that nobody should ever have to fight. He’s finally at peace and hanging out with his dad.
Brooks loved our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father with everything he had. We know without a doubt we will be with him again.
Proceeded in death by his grandfather, Perry Clinton Wangsgaard; his dad, Timothy Clinton Wangsgaard; his grandfather, Rulon Brooks Terry; and his grandmother Claudia Jan Johnson Wangsgaard.
Surviving are his mom, Kris; three brothers, Kel, Grant, and Luke; two sisters, Nikole and Tate.
