Brian Kenneth Kapp, born January 18, 1986, in Ogden, Utah, to Kenneth and Beth Kapp. Brian returned to his Heavenly Father unexpectedly on August 23, 2023.
He graduated from Woods Cross High in 2004. After many years of knowing each other, since Junior High, he married the love of his life, Misty Ladia Kapp on July 5, 2012. His greatest joy was becoming a husband and dad to his boys. Zaedyn and Charley called him dad, but to them he was a super hero which is way cooler than just dad.
Brian enjoyed the snow and cold weather, but especially loved going snowmobiling for the rush. Growing up he had such a passion for art and was absolutely brilliant when he would draw. His imagination would explode and he created masterpieces that meant a lot to him. He loved making different things out of wood. He was planning out a resin epoxy desk that looked like the ocean and another coffee table. In high school, he loved working at the country club where he was an amazing cook. Had he had the chance to continue his passions, he may have become a tattoo artist or a food truck owner.
Even as a young kid, he always had a passion for animals. He has had many over the years starting with a cat that followed him home, dogs, hedgehogs, a lizard, many fish, a guinea pig and his latest joy, chickens. He was especially fond of his Cuckoo Marans, who would follow him around like he was momma bird. He found a calling with chickens and found them soothing and stress relieving. If anyone was upset including himself, it was "here, pet a chicken." He did think he could maybe do therapy chickens, since it has helped little Charley open up so much. He loved spending time with family, whether it was a drive up to fruit row in Perry/Brigham City, stopping at the Amish Market, or a drive down Trappers Loop.
Those who knew Brian, knew he was almost always in shorts, a T-shirt, socks and flip flops or a pair of nice shoes topped off with his Oakley sunglasses. He just recently became a fan of Hey Dude. Over the years, he did have his own demons to battle, but he came out on top with minor ups and downs. His biggest thing was even if you don't think someone needs something, still reach out, you never know what others are going through.
Brian leaves behind his wife Misty, son Zaedyn (13) , son Charley (6) and bonus stepson Braedyn (17). Parents Kenneth and Beth Kapp, brother Nicholas Kapp and sisters Sharlyn (Ken) Miller, Melissa Lee and brother-in-law David Brown (Angela Dawn) as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He is also survived by many friends that he considered family. Also leaving behind his companion, Precious, the dog, who was his shadow. Rescue dog Bobo, old man Kit Kat (the cat, not the candy bar), Scoob, the guinea pig, Dragon, the lizard, and the flock of what he called "Bougie" chickens.
He is preceded in death by both grandparents Kapp and Hardy, his best friends, Jason Cooper and Brian Wynn, 2 baby chicks and one of his Cuckoo Marans, Cleopatra.
Brian would not want us to mourn his death. So, in his honor, we will hold a Celebration of his Life at a nearby park on September 16, 2023, time to be determined. He would love to see you all. Please come as you are. Brian would not want you dressing up as that was not him either. Bring a letter to him or pictures that you have of him for a collage. Share your memories of him so his kids know what he was like.
