Brian Firth

Brian Firth, age 62, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, passed away unexpectedly from an accident at his home on October 18th, 2023, in Bountiful, Utah. Brian was born in Bountiful to wonderful parents Jean Jensen Firth and Donald Firth on April 28th, 1961.
 
Growing up in Bountiful, Brian was lucky to have the help and example from a loyal big brother and two angel big sisters. Brian graduated from Woods Cross High School in 1979 and spent his entire professional career in various capacities at the oil refinery in West Bountiful. In his recent years, Brian had retired and was enjoying a lot of golf with his wife at the “Sponge” (Lakeside Golf Course). 

Brian was an avid sportsman and athlete. He dedicated endless hours to teaching his children various sports including baseball, basketball, golf, and hunting as well as practical skills like vehicle and home maintenance. He would often volunteer for coaching duties and never missed a sporting event for his children. He instilled the values of hard work, commitment, and temperament that his loved ones will never forget.  

Brian married his sweetheart, Calley, on February 14, 2009.  When not golfing or playing with their dogs, the two grew a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles. They rode all over the Wasatch Mountains and made several long-distance trips. Together, they created special moments for their children and grandchildren and made holidays and birthdays special for everyone. Their shared love and devotion was a sight to see. 

Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Jean. She was his hero and passed on wonderful Danish Christmas traditions that he was proud to hold on to all his life. He is survived by his wife, Calley, his father, Donald, his sons Casey (Hollie), Austin (Jenna), Jake, Alec (Olivia), sisters Sandy (Gary) and Susan (late husband Roger Barry), brother Greg (Monica), and 7 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, 84010. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS meeting house at 790 West 1500 South, Woods Cross, Utah, 84087. Another visitation will be held Thursday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. before the services at the church. Interment will be at Memorial Lakeview Cemetery, 1640 E. Lakeview Drive in Bountiful.
