Brett Lowell Griffiths

Brett unexpectedly passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 31st, 2026. Born on September 2nd, 1977, he was just shy of his 49th birthday. He was born and raised in the hills of Bountiful where he attended and graduated from Bountiful High School in 1996. 

Brett was full of life from the time he entered the world. He was never bored - and as the oldest brother - he was a great instigator. Always finding something to do even if it was seeing how many neighborhood kids he could jump his bike over on the sidewalk. Or tattooing himself and his friends with small emblems creating lifelong memories. He loved his siblings and was genuinely close friends with both his brother Brandon and sister Jennifer. 

Brett was naturally just good at anything he wanted to do. He was a decorated BMX racer, a gifted artist, and the ultimate storyteller. Your secrets were never safe with Brett, but don’t worry - he would exaggerate it so much, no one would believe it if he told them anyway. 

In 1996 Brett married his high school sweetheart Kelli and the following year in 1997 they welcomed their first and favorite daughter Isabella. Not long after, in 1998, Brett’s mini-me Jacob was born. Brett was a phenomenal father and brought much of his own interests into parenthood. It wasn’t uncommon to find him fixing bikes for the kids in the neighborhood or building ramps in the driveway. During the day, he was an auto mechanic - a profession that really suited him and his desire to tinker with things. 

In 2005 Brett suffered several strokes leaving him mentally and physically disabled for the remainder of his life. Despite this - Brett was always smiling, giving huge hugs, and often headlocks. His doctors at the time gave him an estimated 18 months to live but in true Brett fashion - he beat all odds and lived a miraculous 21 more years. In that time he inspired those around him to make the most of their lives and never take anyone or anything for granted. 

Not a single person has a true bad thing to say about Brett. If you were in the room, he would make you his friend. He knew the value of relationships and how to make people feel special and seen. While the world is a little dimmer without him, he is now free of his limitations and reunited with many he missed dearly. 

Brett is survived by his parents, Bob and Jody Griffiths, his siblings Brandon (Carri) Griffiths and Jenn (Scott) Peterson, his ex (but beloved) wife, Kelli, his children Bella (Stoney) Griffiths and Jake (Taylor) Griffiths and many nieces, nephews and friends. 

A viewing will be held at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, from 2-4 p.m., and a celebration of life will be held at a later date hosted by the Griffiths Family.
