Bret Delroy Pace, 66, sadly passed away August 24, 2024, peacefully in his favorite chair at home.
Bret was born May 29, 1958 to Buddy and Barbara Jean Pace, in Bountiful Utah. The oldest of four children, he grew up in the same area, and graduated from Viewmont High School in 1976. He worked for A&Z Produce for over 50 years. He started as a driver, and worked his way up to being the general manager. He got the opportunity to work with all 3 of his sons there. He was known for his hard work ethics and was a friend to everyone who came in contact with him.
As he grew up, Bret found a love for arm wrestling. He loved training with friends and family, and won multiple championships. He absolutely loved the outdoors. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting, and he taught his sons well. The time spent in the Uintah mountains with family were some of his best memories. He also loved to bowl, and to watch basketball and football in his chair in the basement of his home, surrounded by the things he loved.
Bret married the love of his life, Skyla Chadwick, on April 5, 1978. Together they had 3 sons and 1 daughter. They raised their family in Fruit Heights and later moved to Riverdale, where they enjoyed their 46 years together. You could always find Bret in his backyard, listening to loud country music, watching the birds he fed and other wildlife. He was known for his BBQ's and made sure everyone was well fed. He took a lot of pride in how he took care of his vehicles and beautiful yard.
Bret loved his family and friends, his big personality made everyone feel welcome and he will be greatly missed.
Bret has waited a long time to reunite with many that preceded him in death, including his brother Gary, sister Cheryl, father Buddy, mother Barbara Jean, his son Bryce, his daughter Cassie, his grandson Owen, and many close family members and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Skyla, his children Bret Jr (Vanessa), and Brock (Lora), his sister Shelley Moss (Steve), and grandchildren Tavion, Taytum, Tayah, Tiera, Beckum, Ella, Baelie, Kingston, and Rylee. We will all miss seeing him wave goodbye to us outside as we leave the house.
