Brent Charles Guernsey

June 16, 1954 — September 11, 2025

Taylorsville, UT

Brent Charles Guernsey, a devoted husband, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly from a cardiac event on September 11, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 71.

Born on June 16, 1954, in Los Angeles, California, Brent was the son of Gerald and Bertha Guernsey. He grew up in Los Angeles, California, with his siblings, Brock and Linda. He attended Antelope Valley High School in Lancaster California. His early years were marked by curiosity, kindness, and a determination to make a difference. As a young man, Brent served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Canada and the Dakotas, an experience that shaped his compassion and dedication to serving others.

For 37 years, Brent worked as an imaging technologist with Intermountain Health. More than just a career, it was a calling. He was an innovator, improving processes and developing systems still in use today—an enduring reminder of his skill and commitment to excellence.

Brent was also a true entrepreneur. Together with his husband, Dale, they started several businesses that reflected their creativity and ambition. They opened Muscle Systems Gym, Hollywood and Vine (a movie memorabilia store), and Frontier Amusement, a company that brought joy to countless people as a purveyor of arcade games. And lastly, they opened and operated the Arcade Theater in Salt Lake City, which brought entertainment to thousands of movie goers and enthusiasts, providing movies at affordable cost to those in western Salt Lake City. Each venture carried their shared vision and hard work, and each left its own mark on the community.

The greatest joy of Brent’s life was his marriage to his beloved husband, Dale H. Christensen, who drew the attached picture of Brent. Together for 48 years, their love was unwavering and inspiring. They built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and deep companionship. Travel was their shared passion, and the two explored the beauty of North Africa and Europe, collecting memories, stories, and friendships along the way.

Brent will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, his quiet strength, and the way he made those around him feel seen and valued. He lived a life marked by integrity, creativity, and love.

He is survived by his husband and soulmate, Dale H. Christensen; his brother, Brock and Anita Guernsey of Olathe, Kansas; and his sister, Linda and Steven Green of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was welcomed into eternal rest by his parents, Gerald and Bertha Guernsey, and his stepmother, Alice Guernsey.
