Bradley Scott DeBerg

Bradley Scott DeBerg passed away at his home in Kaysville, Utah, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Brad was born on May 12, 1960, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the second son of Henry and Marjorie DeBerg. He spent his childhood in Rock Rapids, where he attended elementary, junior high, and high school, graduating from Central Lyon High School in 1978. During high school,

Brad was active in athletics, competing in golf and wrestling and playing football. As a member of the football team, he played on both the offensive and defensive lines, helping lead Central Lyon to the Iowa Class 2A State Championship during both his junior and senior years.

Following high school, Brad attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa, where he graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business. After graduation, he worked for Kmart as a manager—a position that led him to Illinois, Oklahoma, and Minneapolis.

In 1988, he moved to Utah, where he took a job with the Internal Revenue Service, starting as a data transcriber and eventually becoming a department manager. After 32 years, Brad retired from the IRS in July 2020.

At the age of 30, Brad developed cardiomyopathy and was admitted to the University of Utah Hospital, where he met Stephanie Olsen. On July 22, 1993, they were married and began their journey together, eventually settling in Kaysville, where they raised their daughters, Amanda and Courtney, and later welcomed two grandsons, Brody and Theodore.

Brad lived to golf and spent as much time on the course as he could. He was also a devoted Utah Utes football fan, attending most home games and occasionally traveling to away games over the past decade. Brad remained an avid Dallas Cowboys fan regardless of their record and was a loyal Utah Jazz season ticket holder for 20 years. Above all, he was a true family man. Of all his passions, his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Brad is survived by his wife, Stephanie; his daughters, Amanda Baker (Joe) of Clinton, Utah, and Courtney DeBerg (Curtis Turner) of Layton, Utah; his grandsons, Brody and Theodore Turner; his mother, Marjorie DeBerg of Sibley, Iowa; his brother, Hugh DeBerg (Lynn) of Jesup, Iowa; his brothers-in-law, Jeffrey Olsen (Patty) of Crofton, Maryland, and Randy Olsen of LaVale, Maryland; and a loving extended family, including his nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received at Russon Mortuary, 1941 N Main St, Farmington, UT 84025, on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., and Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 9:45 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M.

Interment will be in the Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Rd., Kaysville, Utah.
