Boyd Vaughn Rydalch

Our beloved dad, Boyd, was called home to be with his sweetheart Karma and loved ones on September 8, 2022. Boyd was born in Tooele, Utah on October 28, 1938, to Thomas Farion Rydalch and Thelma May Nash. Boyd grew up in Tooele and graduated from Tooele high school in the class of 1956. Boyd served in the LDS Helsinki, Finland mission from 1959-1961. Two weeks after his return from the mission field, Boyd married his high school sweetheart Karma Weight in the Salt Lake City LDS temple. Shortly after their wedding day, Boyd reported for his 2-year military service in the National Guard. In 1966 Boyd and Karma moved to Bountiful, Utah where they raised their 4 children. 

Boyd was a dedicated LDS church member and served in several different LDS church positions including Bishop of the Bountiful 14th Ward. Boyd was the first in his family to attend college and received his degree from Stevens Henager College. He worked at National Filter Media for 41 years. Boyd retired from NFM as the President and CEO. Boyd was an avid golfer and spent much of his retirement time on the course. Boyd was a very dedicated and supportive father and grandfather.  He made every effort to attend his children's and grandchildren's activities and was extremely proud of all of them. 

Boyd is survived by his 4 children Steve Rydalch (Chrisnee), Mark Rydalch, Paula Hendry (Rick) and Rosann Erickson (Trevor), 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and his sister Joyce Orr.  Preceded in death by his wife Karma and grandson Josh Rydalch.

The funeral will start at 11:00 am on Friday, September 16, 2022. The visitation will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and Friday morning from 9:45 - 10:45 am. Both the Funeral services and visitation will be held at the Bountiful 14th Ward Chapel, 1500 South 600 East, Bountiful, Utah.  Memories may be shared in the "Guestbook" on this obituary page.

Services will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary & Crematory Facebook page and on this obituary page.  The live stream will begin about 10-15 minutes prior to the service and will be posted below.
