Bonnie Joyce Saville Evans passed away September 24, 2025.
She was born January 6, 1924, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Josephine Tibbs Saville and Evern Ernest Saville. She graduated from East High School in 1941and then attended BYU and was affiliated with the Val Norn Social Unit.
While at BYU, she met Roy C. Evans, a senior from Malad, Idaho. WWII was declared that year and Roy joined the Navy but was told to finish his senior year and graduate. After receiving his officer's commission and prior to sea duty in the Pacific, Bonnie and Roy were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 18, 1943. During the two and a half years Roy was overseas, Bonnie worked at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and then in the auditing Dept of Sears Roebuck Co. in Salt Lake.
After Roy's return from the Pacific, Bonnie and Roy lived in Salt Lake City where a daughter, Marsha Jo was born in 1947, and a son Roy Scott was born in 1950. Roy was recalled to serve in the Navy in the Korean War for two years, and after the war they moved to Ogden where a daughter, Joyce Elayne was born in 1955.
In 1961, the family moved to Bountiful, Utah and Bonnie worked at the Davis County Bank for 25 years as executive secretary. Bonnie was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Primary, Young Women's and Relief Society presidency. She volunteered at the South Davis Community Hospital and enjoyed being a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
After retirement, Bonnie and Roy enjoyed traveling in their 5th wheel trailer with their family and friends.
She is survived by children Marsha, (Guy), Scott (Claudia), Joyce (Kevin), 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, and sister Peggy McCullough. Preceded in death by parents, husband, brothers Donald Saville and Richard Saville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 33 South Moss Hill Drive, Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, and Friday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment- Memorial Lakeview Cemetery.
