Berwyn Jones Andrus

Berwyn Jones Andrus, age 94, died Sunday, June 25, 2023.  He was born February 1, 1929, in Cedar City, Utah, to Randolph (Dolph) and Irene Jones Andrus.  He married Virginia Agnes Woolley on July 18, 1952, in the Salt Lake Temple. She died on January 28, 2022.

He was reared and educated in Salt Lake City. Berwyn graduated from South High School and continued his education at the University of Utah with a degree in Civil Engineering.

Berwyn served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the New England Mission 1948-1950.

He began his career as an aerospace engineer with Sperry and worked there his entire career through many company name changes. He enjoyed being the family fix-it man. "Poppa," as most of his favorite people called him, had a reputation for being able to fix anything. Berwyn also enjoyed working long hours in his beautiful yard and garden. 

He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served faithfully in many organizations.  He served for 21 years as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple.

Berwyn is survived by his five children, David Andrus, Ruth (Ray) Little, Teresa Walworth, Glen (Valyn) Andrus, and Susan (Wade) Fiscus. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; siblings, Torma Henderson, J Quentin Andrus, Beverly Jane Paulsen; and son-in-law, Terry Walworth.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Pages Lane Ward, 1476 N 300 W, Bountiful, Utah. Friends may call Friday, June 30, 2023, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 N Main St, Bountiful, Utah, and Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the Pages Lane Ward. Burial will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
