Benjamin Travis Larsen

Benjamin Travis Larsen, known to his family and friends as Ben, passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 35, following a sudden and unexpected medical emergency. His passing was a profound loss to the many people who loved him.

Ben was born January 4, 1991, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and grew up in Bountiful. Through the miracle of adoption, Ben brought his parents the long-awaited joy of their first child. Ten months later, he became a big brother, and five years after that, another brother joined the family.

As a boy, Ben was full of energy and always on the go. He enjoyed riding bicycles, skateboarding, playing catch, watching movies, and playing video games. He especially loved going along with his dad in the truck—sometimes more than he loved going to school.

Ben attended Millcreek Junior High and Bountiful High School. As he grew into adulthood, he enjoyed cooking and developed an interest in computers and technology. He went on to work for Amazon, both as a driver and in the warehouse. He especially enjoyed the people he worked with and valued the relationships he developed there. Ben also had an exceptional memory for numbers and was able to remember details with remarkable ease.

Ben's three dogs were among the greatest joys in his life. He loved taking them on rides out of town so they could run wild, and he made a point of giving them hugs and kisses every day. His affection for his dogs was unmistakable, and they were a cherished part of his everyday life.

Family and friends meant a great deal to Ben. He loved being around the people who loved him, and their happiness brought him happiness. He enjoyed spending time with his close friends, his grandparents, and he was especially devoted to his nephew, Bentley, who was one of his best pals.

Ben's life was not without its difficulties, but he was determined to work through them and to become as independent as possible. Through these experiences, Ben developed an appreciation for the people closest to him and a greater compassion for others. His family remembers especially his determination and his will to keep trying.

In the months before his passing, Ben had experienced a renewed sense of hope and happiness about his future. His efforts in his personal life, along with the satisfaction he found in his work and his appreciation for his coworkers, gave him reason to feel that his future was bright. His family is grateful that he was able to experience that happiness and hope.

Ben will be remembered for his warm smile, his willingness to have fun, his love of his dogs, his enjoyment of movies, cooking, video games, and computers, and the quiet ways he cared for the people around him. He was his own man, doing things in his own way and on his own timeline, yet those closest to him knew how deeply he loved them. Ben was simply a pleasant person to have around—a person whose smile could make a difficult day a little better, whose presence brought happiness to those who loved him, and whose absence will be deeply felt.

Ben is survived by his father, Kendall S. (Susana) Larsen; his mother, Lillian Grace (Greg) Miller; and his brothers, Justin E. Larsen and Kyle (Kylie) Larsen. He is also survived by his grandfather and mentor, David E. Larsen; his nephew, Bentley; and many extended family members and friends who loved him. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Laretta May Reaveley Larsen; grandparents, William M. & Trinidad Torres McGary; and his uncle, Douglas D. Larsen.

A graveside service honoring Ben's life will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bountiful Cemetery.
