Arlin Swain

June 9, 1934 — April 16, 2023

Arlin Clinton Swain, 88, of Bountiful, Utah returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 16, 2023. He was at home with family by his bedside when he passed.
Arlin was born on June 9th, 1934, in Midway Utah.
He attended the University of Utah and served in the Utah National Guard for six years.
He married Marsha Gail Manning for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 21st 1955. Arlin was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings. He particularly enjoyed his callings as High Priest Group Leader and as an Ordinance Worker in the Bountiful Temple.
Arlin worked for his father's construction company (E.C. Swain Construction) for many years as the foreman. During that time, he built many homes and commercial buildings in Davis County and along the Wasatch Front.
Later, he created his own company, Swain Construction, where he specialized in custom home remodeling and additions. Over the years, he received many letters and numerous compliments from proud owners of a "Swain Home."
Arlin was an active member of the Bountiful Sertoma Club for many years, where he served a term as president.
He loved to fish, and looked forward to yearly trips to Island Park, ID with his extended family. He kept a fishing rod and tackle in his work truck, and when he had a day off, he often drove to his childhood home of Midway to fish in his favorite spots.
Arlin was an avid University of Utah fan, and he held season football and basketball tickets for many years. He loved to cheer the Utes on with family and friends.
Arlin is survived by his wife, Marsha, sons Mark (Kristie), Mike (Charlotte), daughters Lisa Jarvis (Mark), and Stephanie Ferguson (Brandon), nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a sister Carolyn Secrist.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ephraim Clinton Swain and Rachael LaVerda Hair Swain; a sister, Darlene (and husband JR Nelson); a brother, Gerald; and a brother-in-law, Joe Dean Secrist.
