Anna Sedgwick Ainscough was born March 12, 1932. She was the fourth of five children born to Rodney Alonzo and Alice Cherrington Sedgwick at Bountiful, Utah. She passed away peacefully September 17, 2025, at her home.

Anna was a life-long resident of Bountiful and had fond memories of living around grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and lots of cousins. She often talked of picnics at Mueller Canyon, sledding down Tuttle Hill, riding the Bamberger, harvesting vegetables in Brough’s field, Cantaloupe Days, watching baseball games at the city park, and more. She loved riding around the streets of Bountiful remembering who lived in each of the older homes.

She attended Stoker Elementary, South Davis Junior (now Bountiful Junior High) and “Dear Old Davis High School”. After graduating high school, she attended Utah State University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She taught a year in Las Vegas and then returned to Utah and taught at Stoker Elementary as well as several other schools in Davis District; she also worked at the District Office. While teaching at Tolman Elementary she met a handsome sixth-grade teacher, Norman Gene Ainscough, and they were married on April 9, 1959, in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of four children.

Anna enjoyed growing flowers, her greenhouse, quilting, knitting, cooking, reading a good mystery, playing solitaire, playing cards and Yahtzee with her sister, a good nap, children, teaching, Mincemeat Pie, Lemon Dessert, feeding and watching the wild birds, traveling, trips to Panguitch to see family, family history, ironing, listening to the radio, and reading the newspaper.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings and enjoyed whatever she was asked to do. She served a mission with her husband Norman to the Leeds England Mission. She loved her time serving at the Bountiful Temple.

Anna is survived by her children: Richard (Kathy), Annette, David (Tina), and Susan (Chris) Hardy, 17 cherished grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, both natural and bonus alike. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her siblings Harold, Kendall, Lois and Lynn.
