Ann Jackson Troop

Jul 17, 1942 — Oct 19, 2026

Bountiful, UT

Ann Jackson Troop passed away on October 19th, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. The greeting card industry might never recover. While Allan is happy to have his angel return, we are left to mourn the passing of a kind and loving soul. Ann was born on July 17th, 1942, into the happy home of Amos Ray and Helen Carlson Jackson. She was the 2nd of 9 siblings. She was taught about hard work, music, and the love of family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She loved growing up in a large family. She adored her siblings even to the day of her passing. She played the violin and took piano from her grandmother in the heart of Salt Lake where she loved stopping by ZCMI to grab a favorite treat with her sister. Ann attended South High and continued her education at her beloved BYU. Her roommates at BYU became some of her dearest friends. When her parents asked her to pick up her sister from a dance, she instead was picked up by her sweetheart Allan Troop. Her sister went home by herself. That dance continued for 62 more years. Allan knew from the moment he saw her that she was the one and would be his eternal sweetheart. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 29, 1964.

After they were married, she followed Allan with the military and settled in their forever home in Bountiful Utah. She loved the Bountiful 27th Ward and all of the friendships that she formed there.

After BYU she became a teacher until she began her family. She was the proud mother of 7 children. Her children loved her deeply. They knew of her love thru her homemade bread, Chocolate cake, sewing, and so many other things. Her posterity continued with 25 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. We could only hope to have a portion of her love, gentleness, and generosity. She will be remembered for her love for the Gospel which she shared with all that knew her. We knew she was touched by the spirit through her tears.

After raising her children, she continued her schooling at both the U of U and Utah State, although she still bled Cougar Blue. She loved her time with the special education and the Davis School District. She recognized the children as special spirits straight from Heaven.

For many years, she and Allan served as tour guides on Temple Square and the Salt Lake Temple until the Bountiful Temple opened. Ann served there until she was needed to raise grandchildren at the passing of her Son. Ann and Allan served an LDS Mission to LDS Business College (Ensign) where she met many students that she loved and cherished, including her relationship with Yumi and John Naylor, that continued until her passing. She served in many capacities in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She believed there were no small callings.

She is survived by 5 of her 7 children: Caroline Davis, Mary (Jed) Neilson, Lynnae (Chris) Bouwhuis, Brad (KaDee) Troop, and Steve (Karie) Troop, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her sweetheart Allan, her parents, Allan’s parents, Sister (Jeanne Mather), Daughter Alisa (William) Kay, Son David (Sandra) Troop, Son in Law Kent Davis, and Grandson Isaac Troop. Her broken heart from the passing of Allan is now healed. What a great reunion!
