Ann Stanger

May 22, 1941 — September 6, 2022

South Jordan, Utah

ViAnn Ruth "Ann" Andersen Stanger returned to her heavenly home on September 6, 2022, after a short battle with breast cancer.

Our beloved Mother was born May 22, 1941, in Murray, Utah to Arthur William Andersen and Clara Alice Devey. She attended school in Salt Lake City and Provo and graduated from Hollywood Beauty School as a cosmetologist in 1958. She married Robert Kay Stanger on February 4, 1959. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple on February 5, 1971.

Ann was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many different positions in Cub Scouts, Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society on the ward and stake level including ward and stake Relief Society President. She enjoyed serving as a temple worker in the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple and as a service missionary at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. She especially enjoyed serving in compassionate service. Many will remember her positive spiritual leadership. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, gardening, participating in sports, and traveling.

People gravitated to the bright light she brought into their lives. Ann lived and taught Christlike qualities and trusted in God's plan for her. You are our sunshine.

Ann is survived by her three children: Darren (Kerry) Stanger, Marvin (Carol Ann) Stanger, and Laura Lee (Michael) Andersen; by grandchildren Koltin Stanger, Kirstie (Tanner) Weyland, Andrea (Nelson) Villegas, Troy Kump, Taysha (Jared) Bray, Chelsea (Lance) Oldroyd, Kayla (David) Savage, LeighAnn (Ben) Johnson, Jared (Cassidy) Andersen, Justin (Sarah) Andersen, McKenzie (Andrew) Durham, and Emily (Ethan) Laudie; and by 27 great-grandchildren including one on the way. She is also survived by three siblings: Beth Evans, Lucienne Silotti, and Joy Catmull.

Ann came from a large family of twelve sisters and three brothers. She is preceded in death by nine sisters and three brothers: Leona Andersen, Lyona Dansie, Ruth Laughlin, Esther Dickey, Gladys Stum, Martina Andersen, Valene Judd, LeArta Moulton, Janyce Banks, Mark Andersen, Kay Andersen, and Art Andersen.
