Anita Marie Wilhelm Norton, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026. Born on July 18, 1940, Anita shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Larry Norton, whom she married on July 10, 1970.
Anita was raised in Grand Junction Colorado, on a working farm, where she developed a deep love for animals and the great outdoors. Later, she moved to Bountiful, Utah, where she lived across the street from Larry Norton—the love of her life.
Anita and Larry shared a strong bond over their passion for the outdoors. Whether hunting, fishing, hiking, boating, or riding four-wheelers to explore new hunting grounds and enjoy the beauty of nature, they treasured every adventure together. Anita’s love for nature was evident in all she did.
A naturally gifted artist, Anita taught herself to paint and quickly earned recognition for her exquisite work. She also discovered a talent for taxidermy, and remarkably, within her first year, she won the state championship and placed second nationally—a true testament to her dedication and skill.
Anita was the kind of friend everyone wished to have—honest and truthful, regardless of the consequences. Always ready to lend a helping hand, she offered support without hesitation or being asked. Her generous spirit and unwavering integrity made a lasting impact on all who knew her.
The world has lost a truly great soul. Anita was preceded in death by her parents Avalon and Boyd Wilhelm. She is survived by her husband Larry Norton, her daughter Caren Funk, and her brother John Wilhelm (Liz). She is also survived by her Step Children Rick Norton (Julie), Linda Christensen (Rick), and Brenda Newkirk (Roger), who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
