Our beloved father Andrew Aloysius Odnoha, or as his family came to know him Opi, passed away on September 12, 2023, at home in Farmington, Utah. Opi is survived by his 9 children Pamela, Andrea, Joseph, Unita, Andrew Jr., Steven, Diana, Samantha, and Andre, and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Andrew was born in Manhattan, NY on December 4th, 1930, where he lived with his brother, mother, and father and was often found playing stickball in the street with neighborhood kids. He was drafted into the Army and served with distinction earning two bronze stars during the Korean War. After his service he had the opportunity to follow his passion for baseball when he was signed to play semi-professionally. A natural athlete, he enjoyed playing tennis, golf, squash, and many others throughout his entire life.
He also had a passion for travel and food and as an international banker he was able to live, work, and dine throughout the world. He lived an incredibly full life with many adventures including golfing in Peru during a major earthquake, sleeping through a bombing raid, and spending time with royalty in the Middle East.
For fun, he loved playing poker, and was seemingly always dealt what he would call “his deuce” in a game of Texas Hold’em. Andrew was a loving husband to Hilde Odnoha, a devoted father, and a devout Catholic throughout his life. With so many people in the world touched by Andrew’s life, we know that he is greatly loved and is dearly missed. It is with both joy and sadness that we return Andrew to his wife in heaven.
