Aldon Kennith Bosen

b. January 6, 1937

Aldon Kennith Bosen was born to Afton and Lois Bosen on January 6, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah  He grew up in Salt Lake City with 3 brothers and 2 sisters-Robert, Don, Richard, Elaine and Jean.  Al had a natural talent for sports, he enjoyed basketball, golf, and baseball; but his passion was football.  That passion took him to Westminster College on a football scholarship where he traveled to many states playing small colleges in the West.  Al was an encyclopedia when it came to sports.; You could sit down for hours with him learning about college and professional teams.  He started working at Utah Power and Light on April 22, 1957 as a cadastral drafter aka senior design draftsman in the engineering department with a specialty in substations.  In 1987 he retired at the young age of 50 from Utah Power and Light.  Al’s children and grandchildren were the lights of his life.  Als first marriage was to Kaye and welcomed their first son Kurt.  They divorced and years later then met Tori who had 2 daughters- Megan and Candace. In 1987 Tori and Al welcomed their twin sonsMatthew and Marcus.  Al was the most patient, loving, and caring Dad.  Al taught all of his children the meaning of hard work through example and with his motto of life -”What you put into it is what you get out of it.”  Al always stressed to the kids that we could be anything if we put our minds to it.  Al was always supportive and was the biggest cheerleader to friends and family. He taught many lessons but the most invaluable lesson was to “Cowboy Up!!”  No matter what life threw at you he told you to get back on that horse and take the reigns, ‘‘When you get bucked off that horse you get back on that horse and show it who’s boss”; with his passion for horses and horseback riding he meant this both metaphorically but also literally   Al was a true cowboy.  Cowboying took him and his closest family and friends to beautiful places.  Al’s happy place  was the Uintas or as he called the HIGHHHH country;  he knew the Uintas like the back of his hand.  He spent a lot of time in Uintas fishing and drinking cool clear water from the springs, Dutch oven cooking and just sitting around the campfire bs’ing it up!  Al was the king of a good story or as we called a ‘Bose story’. Al was a wealth of knowledge in everything, a man that carried many ‘tool belts’. Al enjoyed many hobbies and passions- farming, gardening, dancing, singing and leatherwork.  When you couldn’t find him in the mountains or hayfield he was at a lake.  Lake Powell was another happy place and adventure spot for Al.  He would pack up the whole family and escape to ‘Powell’ for days on end where many folk tales were told on those beaches!  Al welcomed anyone with open arms and left an impression on everyone he encountered even to his last breath.  He will be missed immensely but his memories will live on forever in our hearts and the high country!  We love you Al, Bose, daddy Al

Al is survived by his sons Kurt Bosen(Char), Matthew Bosen(Amberlee), Marcus Bosen(Jen) and daughters Megan Kelly, and Candace Kelly.  Grandchildren Nick Bosen(Becca), Natalie, Ashton, Evelyn, Brynnlee, Bentley, and Breanna.
