Joyce Abel Carpenter left this world to be by her husband’s side on May 7, 2022. Born March 31, 1932 to Wilford Dewey and Ella Kent Abel in Cornish, Utah. Married Byron Reid Carpenter February 28, 1949.
Moved from Pocatello, Idaho to Bountiful, Utah in 1954 to follow her husband’s dreams of becoming a television legend and raising four the most demanding children on the planet. Both were done with perfection. It can be hard to find the words to pay tribute to the woman who raised and cared for you the way she did. A lifetime of careless devotion.
Love as powerful as hers leaves its own mark. To have been loved so deeply even though that person is gone will give us protection forever.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, many brothers and sisters, her husband of 55 years, oldest son Alan, her youngest son Steve, granddaughter Stacey & great grandson Cyrus. She leaves behind Doug (Marilyn) Carpenter and Debra (Hans) Beck, many grand and great-grandkids.
A special thank you to Oak Ridge Assisted Living (Waikoloa, Sante Assisted Living) for all their wonderful care. A very special thank you to Karma and Tasha.
Friends and family can pay tribute to the life of Joyce at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful.
