Funeral Home Russon Mortuary Bountiful
Christi Anna Lowe, born April 4, 1983, in Salt Lake City, Utah, was born with a generous heart and a talent for helping others to feel uplifted. Christi left this world after a short illness and joined her father, Dennis Lowe, on the other side of the veil on November 27, 2021. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved our Savior.
While she was with us, she created joy and fun for all around her and made sure that all were included. She checked on family and friends often and would leave notes of encouragement. Never without bright colors or something sparkly, she sparked joy in those who called themselves her friends and family. Christi was a life-long learner who found happiness in everything associated with space, often posting significant planetary events, eclipses, and rocket launches to social media as a public service announcement to the non-nerds of social media.
Christi found her calling working at Western Governors University for the last 13 years. First, helping students find their passions and then, as a project manager, managing programs to help those same students succeed. She also moonlighted at Wiseguys Comedy Club in Salt Lake City, often being the first face people saw on their way to laugh the night away. It started as a way to get money to travel and find random, out-of-the-way places to visit. She loved the gig, especially meeting the comedians, particularly Fortune Feimster (her favorite) in the months before her death
In addition to her work, Christi was actively engaged in volunteering, often raising money and organizing donation drives for various organizations, including People Helping People, the Road Home, the Ronald McDonald House, and after various natural disasters throughout the world. Her heart extended far past her immediate borders.
Christi loved her family and friends, and in the past few years graduated to Cool Aunt status, spoiling both Rooney and August with science experiments, movie dates, and spooky Halloween craft nights. She also adored her many friends, who gave her so much joy throughout the years, from co-workers to church friends to any random person who shared her sarcastic wit. As a member of the Utah Voices choir, she loved singing and using her voice to lift people up.
Christi is survived by her mother, Cindy; her brother, Trent, and sister-in-law, Emmy; her niece, Rooney, and nephew, August; her grandmother, Eva Herrick; many aunts and uncles, as well as cousins who loved her and whom she loved.
