Funeral Home Russon Mortuary Farmington
Helen Teresa (Hoffman) Bouchard, 86 years old, passed away peacefully on November 15th, 2021 at Avalon Care Center with her sister, Marie, by her side.
Helen was born on September 10th, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to Francis Jerome Hoffman and Louise Marie (Salamone) Hoffman.
In 1954 Helen married her sweetheart, Harold Edward Bouchard, later divorced. Harold passed away shortly thereafter. Helen and Harold had three children. Helen never remarried.
Helen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She joined the church later in life and would always say she was so grateful for her Father in Heaven and Savior, Jesus Christ and for the relationship she now had with them. She knew they loved her and she loved them. Helen made many friends in the church whom she would never let a moment go by without sending them a note or calling them. Helen also loved little children. She would quickly volunteer every Halloween to hand out candy. She would put on the witches hat and sit on the porch all night. She would also make sure her purse had a bag of candy in it each Sunday to pass out to all the little ones in the ward. Helen had a huge fondness for animals and would always donate to any animal sanctuary advertisement that came her way. Her cat, Missy, was the naughtiest cat except with Helen. You would always find them snuggling together no matter what time of day. Helen’s sister Marie was her best friend. They did everything together and were constantly by each other’s side, attached at the hip. It was an ongoing observation that neither would be sick or injured at the same time so they could take care of the other.
Helen was preceded in death by her mother, father, and her ex-husband, whom she loved dearly. We are certain there is a joyous reunion happening.
Helen is survived by her sister, Marie Hoffman, of Bountiful, Utah, and her children, Mark (Karen) of Rigby, Idaho; Debra McDonald of Ferndale, Michigan; and Francis of Clearfield, Utah, her eight grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Helen will be dearly missed. We love you mom and look forward to the day we will be together again sitting at the kitchen table and not getting anything else accomplished. Just visiting.
A viewing will take place for Helen’s family and friends on Sunday, November 21st at Russon Brothers Mortuary in Farmington, Utah from 6-8pm. All are welcome. Interment will be in Michigan near her parents.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Avalon Care Center for their care, love and support of Helen, along with the love shown to her by her many friends and distant relatives over the years.
*In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donating to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in memory of Helen.
