William Robert Howell

William Robert Howell (Bill), passed away peacefully on August 7, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 11, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri to William Russell Howell and Ruth Graham.
Bill grew up in Los Angeles. After graduating from Freemont High School, he served four years in the Air Force and studied at the University of Utah. He became a skilled draftsman in aerospace engineering. While living in Utah, he met Eva May Peterson and married her in Ely, Nevada on April 26, 1959, later they solemnized their marriage in the Los Angeles Temple. After marrying Eva, he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and remained a faithful member throughout his life. He diligently served as a counselor in his Ward Bishopric; and due to his gift of having meticulous attention to details, served for decades as the Ward Clerk. Bill was a champion bowler and a master chess player. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, collecting coins, stamps, and puttering in the yard.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Eva, and his sister June. He is survived by his three children: Jerry (Charlene), Susan Lombardo (Randy), and Laura Adams (Gregory), as well as 12 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and his niece and nephews who called him “Uncle Bobby”.
Bill’s children and loved ones are grateful to the staff and friends at the Richfield Care and Rehab Center for their dedicated care, attention, and kindness during his final months.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 10:00 a.m. the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, the morning of Saturday, August 13, 2022, where Bill will be laid to rest.
