Wayne Marshall Saltzgiver was born September 20, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was twelfth child of Roma Orlando and Alverda May (Kearl) Saltzgiver. He passed away peacefully at Lakeview Hospital, Bountiful, Utah on July 25, 2021 after a brief and brave struggle with leukemia. He was married to his sweetheart, Helen Salter, and they enjoyed almost 67 years of married life together. Wayne was a dedicated employee of Mountain Fuel Supply Company, working there for 38 years. He obtained a BS degree at the University of Utah, and a masters degree at Westminster College. He held many church positions, which he excelled at. He was also known for community service and government involvement, most notably serving multiple terms as a city council member of Woods Cross City, being appointed in 1998 as Deputy Governor for Governmental Relations for the State of Utah, and also volunteering to help in the 2002 winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Wayne and Helen served a mission fo the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1999.
Wayne was a warm and wonderful man; befriending everyone he came in contact with, and beloved by many.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Salter Saltzgiver and their four children: Larry Saltzgiver (and wife Lois), Julie Eddings (and husband Eric), John Saltzgiver (and wife Cynthia), and Doug Saltzgiver (and wife Kristen). He also has six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Great-grandpa, Grandpa, Dad, and Husband will be missed sorely, but we know he is having a grand reunion in Heaven with his loved ones who have gone before him.
At Wayne’s request, all service will be private.
