Warren Nathan Toone

September 18, 1967 — October 1, 2021

Nathan was born in Salt Lake City, Utah during the year the Farmington family home was in construction.  He and the family moved into the home in March of the following year with his father, Warren Hyrum Toone, mother, Marilyn Landry Toone and sisters, Rochelle, Colette, Charlotte and Kileen.

Nathan was given a bicycle at an early age, certainly the best gift for him.  He loved his bicycle.  At the age of 13 he started racing in bicycle moto cross (BMX).  By age 15 he became a member of a racing team and he dominated in his age group.  The team would also travel out of state to national BMX competitions.

Nathan became an excellent bike mechanic and worked in the local bicycle stores.  When he was older and more independent, he lived in Moab, Utah and loved to ride his bicycle on the many slick rock features.  He found work as a bicycle mechanic and lead bicycle tours through the area landscape.  He like living in Moab but his financial income was limited.  After about six years in Moab, he moved back to live in Davis County where he could find better employment.  His truck had a shell over the back and sometimes he would live in his truck.  He lived in both Salt Lake City and Ogden for a while.

His bicycle racing interests became more challenging.  He competed in the Deer Valley downhill racing competitions and won the Pro Downhill competition three separate years.

Nathan was living in a condominium in Bountiful.  He was doing well there.  His father checked on him weekly.  Nathan became sicha and was taken to the hospital where he was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia.  While hospitalized it was discovered that he had prior lung damage from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.  This combination resulted in his death.
