Verna Gaisford Simpson ?Gone for a Walk?

Our dear mother and grandma returned to her Heavenly Father and her sweetheart on August 11, 2004. She was born December 1, 1920 in Mammoth, Utah to Mary Emily Barnett and George Matthew Gaisford. Graduated South High School. Married her sweetheart, Harry George Simpson, July 11, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2002. She found great joy in serving in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Primary, Young Women?s, and Relief Society. She served as a hostess on Temple Square and as a service missionary at the Salt Lake Temple.

She is Survived by two daughters, Judy Jack Nelson, Mary Bill Ortiz, and one son, Larry Gloria Simpson. 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. Also survived by a brother, Owen Bud Gaisford, and a sister, Margaret Marshall

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Russon Brothers Salt Lake Mortuary, 255 South 200 East, Friends may call on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and also prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens of the Valley, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy.
