Verna Clara Mason Hart Bowen

September 13, 1916 — December 1, 2020

Verna Clara Mason Hart Bowen – Born to parents Victor Wayne Mason and Clara Jane Young Mason in Lehi, Utah, September 13, 1916. Her mortal journey ended peacefully, December 1, 2020. Raised in Lehi, Salt Lake City and Bountiful, Graduated from Davis High School in 1934. Verna was a dedicated professional and had many jobs throughout her life. She retired as an executive Secretary, after 25 years, at Bountiful Water Sub-Conservancy District. Verna made Bountiful her home until age 96. She was a pillar in the community, known for her kindness and service. She moved to Idaho Falls in 2013, living with both of her sons and daughters-in-law. Her heartfelt thanks to Jim & Roxie, and the late Gene and (Louise) for sharing their homes and providing tender loving care. She considered this time priceless. Verna made special friends in Idaho Falls and Blackfoot Idaho and enjoyed attending church in both locations.

Active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, enjoying various callings in Sunday School, MIA, Relief Society, Data Entry Center and especially as an Ordinance Worker in the Salt Lake City and Bountiful Temples, serving over 14 years. Verna was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Married Alvin LeRoy Hart November 19, 1936, later divorced. Married Frank Milton Bowen, November 29, 1960. Survived by son, James Lynn (Roxie) Hart, Idaho Falls, ID and two stepchildren, Shannon (Bill) Pippy, Richard (Heather) Bowen, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; also survived by Sister-in-law, Lucille Mason and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Eva, and brothers, Alvin and Wayne Mason, son, Gene Hart and his wife, Mary Louise Hart, granddaughter, Jennifer Hart, stepdaughter, Margo Walker and great-granddaughter, Courtney.

Special thanks to ALL friends and family that showed Verna so much affectionate care. Your service and love were appreciated!

Funeral services (Covid-approved) will be held Saturday December 12, 2020, Viewing 9:45-10:45 a.m., Chapel Service at 11 a.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, UT. Burial – Lehi City Cemetery. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com
