Sylvia Boyack Gisseman 1917 – 2003

Beloved wife and mother, Sylvia Boyack Gisseman returned home to her Heavenly Parents on Sunday August 17th, after being lovingly cared for by her husband. She was born September 16, 1917 in Spanish Fork, Utah and married Kenneth L. Gisseman, January 18, 1947. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Preceded in death by her daughter, Shelley Jeanne Gisseman, parents, Hilda and Sylvanus Boyack. Survived by her husband, Kenneth, daughters, Judy Gisseman and Joylyn Stephen Jones, grandchildren; Michael Jones, Jenny Spiva, and great-granddaughter Devyn. Sisters; Phyllis Johnson of Palo Alto, CA, Beryl Young of Blackfoot, and brother Ray Boyack of Moore, Idaho. And many nieces and nephews. Sylvia and her eternal companion served a mission among the Crow and Cheyenne People of Montana. She loved to read and travel. Many thanks to Karen, Kathy, and Mindie of Rocky Mountain Hospice, whose visits Mom looked forward to with such pleasure. Thanks to the care givers at Westside Community Nursing Center who cared for mom in 2001. Thanks to Elaine, her visiting teacher and Cal her home teacher for ?not forgetting?. Thanks to Carma for her support through the years, and to Bishop Cluff for his great compassion. Mom was so sweet and so appreciative of everyone. We will miss her, but are grateful that she is in a better place with family who love her. Her trials are over. Well done Mom. We love you. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rose Park 2nd Ward, 800 North 1200 West. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Salt Lake Mortuary, 255 South 200 East. and prior to services at the ward from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
